Personal Data Privacy Notice for Admission Applicants

Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (“VISTEC”) protects your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

• Identity & Nationality: Including name, date of birth, and nationality to determine fee liability.
• Sensitive Data Concealment: VISTEC has no intention to collect religious or blood type data. Applicants must conceal/black out such data on identity documents before submission. If not concealed, VISTEC is authorized to conceal it on the applicant's behalf.
• Educational Profile: Transcripts and English proficiency results used to evaluate qualifications.

• Contractual Basis: Necessary for application processing and registration.
• Legitimate Interest: For fee verification, risk management, audit supervision, and maintaining the Permanent Blacklist Database.
• Legal Obligation: For disclosure to governmental authorities like MHESI for verification.

• Storage: Data is stored on secure servers at VISTEC in Thailand.
• Retention: Data related to the blacklist will be retained indefinitely to enforce permanent ineligibility. Other data is kept as long as necessary for admission purposes or as required by law.

VISTEC may disclose data to the internal Admissions Committee, relevant departments, and governmental authorities (e.g., MHESI) as required for verification.

Under the PDPA, you have the right to access, rectify, or object to the processing of your data.
